We also wanted to analyze customer spending habits. Below is the distribution of the average dollars spent per trip to the store. So do different demographics have different buying habits? To investigate, we first analyzed the marijuana buying behavior of loyal members by gender. We also explore product preferences by age.
Each segment primarily buys Flower: customers over 50 buy Flower at the highest price, while older customers buy fewer Pre-Rolls than their younger counterparts. Pre-Rolls represent 27% of purchases among customers over 20 years of age, and this proportion decreases with each age group to only 8% of purchases by those over 80. On the contrary, the proportion of edible and other products purchased increases with age, from 6% to 18% and from 3% to 12%, respectively.
